As women, we often face challenges that I like to call the big three—the butt, the boobs, and the belly. I’m sure many of us can relate.

How to feel more comfortable in your own body

Here’s a story I want to share: when I was 27, I went through my first round of IVF. Before that, I was always on the slimmer side without too much effort (don’t curse me as we say in Greek)

But after that round of IVF (which didn’t work), my body completely changed. My hormones were all over the place, and I didn’t know how to even stand in my own skin. There was a time when I couldn’t look at myself in the mirror without feeling lost.

I was beautiful, my body was strong, and it had been through something huge. But I couldn’t see that.

I won’t bore you with the emotional details—I’m not one for cheesy confessions (my best friends are probably laughing as they read this). But the summer came, and my body was still in the same place, while my mind remained stuck. One day, I decided to take charge. I put on my “big girl pants” and went shopping.

My goal was simple: to find one or two swimsuits—good quality, comfortable, and something that would make me feel okay in my own skin. But to my surprise, summer fashion seemed to only cater to XS sizes, with the perfect butt, a flat belly, and boobs pointing toward the sky. Finding something that made me feel comfortable was impossible.

That’s when the vision for Somnio came to life.

It’s so important to remember that body comfort is a journey, not a destination. There will be good days, and there will be not-so-good days—and that’s okay. Small changes can lead to big transformations in how we view ourselves.

Please stop comparing yourself to others! It often leads to feelings of inadequacy, and comparison can rob us of our self-confidence. Your body is uniquely yours—embrace it. Focus on your journey, and be kind to yourself.

Choose clothing that makes you feel confident and comfortable. When you wear something that truly fits, that feels right, it shifts your perspective—and can even change how you feel in your skin.

This summer, I hope your “big three” will be happy with the choice you make.

Enjoy
